Process— I’ve begun to use physical moodboards. Whether it be for a custom wedding invitation suite or a personal painting, it helps the visual side of my brain create the feeling that I desire to obtain through the piece of art. Currently, I am inspired most by colors & movement— so the majority of my boards are directed towards colors & movement that bring out “hope”, “kindness”, “gentleness”, “love”, “strength”, etc. .
Have any of you shifted to or used a physical mood board? What do you enjoy about it?

For a morning last week, I allowed myself to play. I set aside work, to-do lists, emails, & orders- bought some oils & played. I’m sure my technique was flawed in many variances, but I had no expectation to live up to & it was so refreshing.
.
I believe that my personal standards in my work are what make me “good” at my job, but are also what bring unnecessary stresses- they are at times what steals the joy of the process. I have found that creative refreshment (such as this piece) is needed in order to best create & serve each incredible human that I get to work alongside. .
Ramble condensed: take time to play & create without expectation- it’s so good for the soul.
